Political Prediction Markets

Political markets aggregate traders' views on elections, leadership contests and policy events. Their prices can react faster than polls, but they measure the market's belief rather than voting intention directly.

Markets are not polls

A poll asks a sample how they intend to vote. A prediction market asks participants to risk money or reputation on what will happen. The two can disagree because they answer different questions.

UK access and regulation

UK-licensed betting exchanges provide political markets under Gambling Commission rules. Prices from overseas platforms can be informative, but they do not become PredictionSites.co.uk forecasts simply because we report them.

How we label political data

Every displayed figure must name its external platform and update time. We describe it as a market-implied probability and avoid language suggesting an editorial endorsement or proprietary forecast.
